A descriptive quantitative approach was used to collect data, which allowed us to identify the level of knowledge and how obesity and malnutrition can be prevented. The selected population had the opportunity to participate freely and voluntarily and learn much better how to have a healthier life. It should be noted that they were given educational talks and anthropometric measurements were taken. Data analysis was conducted using student surveys, which allowed us to substantiate the results. Data processing was performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program, a statistical software. Within the data returned by the software, 88.4% reported knowledge of obesity. Among other associated factors, it is notable that 97.5% were aware of malnutrition, as well as other equally important factors such as sex, age, and height. It is crucial to promote a balanced diet and physical activity, and to adopt suggestions based on the specific needs of students.eng
The research project on adolescent pregnancy prevention, developed at the "César Arroyo" Educational Unit during the 2024 period, has as its main purpose to reduce the incidence of unplanned pregnancies in young people between 14 and 18 years of age. Recognizing the importance of comprehensive sex education, our project seeks to raise awareness among adolescents about this problem through appropriate information and training reproductive health issues. We held interactive workshops in the Cesar Arroyo educational unit in the parish of Otón on sexual health and the use of contraceptive methods, providing a space where adolescents could express all their doubts and concerns about this topic. Together with teachers from this educational establishment, the accompaniment of the students was achieved to address issues of great importance such as their self-esteem, and the pressure of society, trying to ensure that they have a safe environment of emotional well-being. Through this research, it was possible to establish that 60% of students are unaware of the prevention of teenage pregnancy and the serious consequences that pregnancy can bring at such an early age. To achieve better care and awareness among young people, we distribute brochures and digital resources that provide accessible and appropriate information on pregnancy prevention and reproductive health. With all of the above, the expected results would be an increase in knowledge about sexual health and contraceptive methods, a decrease in the rate of unplanned pregnancies among adolescents, and the creation of a safe and supportive environment to discuss sexuality issues
